Welcome Home to Shepherd of the Hills

Welcome to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Clermont, Florida. Whether you are a lifelong resident of Lake County, a newcomer to our growing community, or a snowbird looking for a place to worship, we are happy that you found us!

In a world that often feels hurried and disconnected, we invite you into a community grounded in a radical, life-changing concept: Grace. The heart of Lutheranism is the belief that we are saved by God’s grace through faith. In so many areas of our lives, we are told we must “earn” our way—through hard work or being “good enough.” Lutheran Christians flip that script.

Lutherans believe God’s love is a free gift. You don’t have to have your life “together” to walk through our doors. As an inclusive ELCA congregation, we celebrate all people without regard to age, race, sexual orientation, or life circumstances. You are loved exactly as you are, and that love is what empowers us to grow together.

We are a community that cherishes deep roots and open hearts. Our worship focuses on Word and Sacrament, featuring traditional Lutheran liturgy and contemporary and traditional music that connect us to centuries of faith. As we say in our vision statement, we are a forward-looking people, constantly seeking how to “make Christ known by reaching out in faith and proclaiming the good news of God.”

When you join Shepherd of the Hills, you aren’t just attending a Sunday service; you are becoming part of a community. We believe we are “God’s work, our hands,” and we live this out right here in Clermont through:

  • Local Outreach: Supporting our neighbors in need through food initiatives and community assistance.
  • Inclusive Fellowship: Creating a space where “friends become family” and where your doubts and questions are as welcome as your faith.
  • Spiritual Growth: Engaging with scripture and heritage through an open, thoughtful lens that values intellectual curiosity and modern context.

A Place Where You Belong

Perhaps the biggest reason to join Shepherd of the Hills is the community itself. We pride ourselves on being a place where we know your name. From the moment you enter our sanctuary on Caspian Lane, you’ll find a multi-generational family that helps and cares for each other. We celebrate joys, help each other through grief, and remind each other that no one walks alone.

If you are looking for a spiritual home that values hospitality, deep tradition, and active service, we invite you to join us! There is a seat at the table waiting just for you.
