It's time again for Thrivent to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build another house in Leesburg. As usual, we are helping to build the new house. The ceremonial ground-breaking at the site was held on January 6, 2009. After considerable permitting delays, construction of the two bedroom home began on March 16.

The work days will usually be on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. These work days may be altered to to site inspections, delays in material, etc. Both men and women volunteers are welcome to come, so come and join us.
A Saturday work day for youth is a good opportunity for some of our younger church members and friends to have a real learning experience, while enjoying some fun and good fellowship. Come on, give it a try. Call Walt McCarty at 352-394-7369.
Thrivent Build volunteers need to be 18 years or older. No experience is needed but if you hava a special building talent, that's a plus. Youths 14 to 17 years old may volunteer mostly for the learning experience, but are not permitted to use any power tools at the building site. For safety reasons, shoes must be worn. Sandals or open toe shoes of any kind are not permitted.
Directions to the work site: North on SR 27 to Griffin Road (light where SR 27 and US 441 merge in Leesburg). Left on Griffin Road for about one mile to left on Thomas Road for a few blocks, then left again on Harlem Road. The site is on the right just past the next stop signal..
